Social bookmarking sites have proven to be effective traffic getting strategies. Without much ado, let’s dive into the steps of this method I just learnt.
Steps to Completely Automate Your Social Bookmarking At No Cost
Step 1: Write your article and submit to your blog and/ or top 10 article directories. Ensure that your article is of good quality, that is, if you want people to click the links in them or help you share it with others (e.g retweet it, dig, stumble it). Step 2 – Copy the title and URL sof your article or post. Then paste them into a blank notepadStep 3 – Blast each article’s URL to 30 Social Bookmarking Sites using Ping.fm and Hootsuite’s auto-submit feature. Both tools are completely free – they help you to automate social bookmarking your posts and articles.
The social bookmarking sites can deliver tons of traffic, but you have to bookmark many of them for every single article if you want to get maximum results. That can be a daunting task. You can automate your social bookmarking with ping.fm and hootsuite so that you focus on creating articles and posts only.
Ping.fm enables your blog posts or status updates to be automatically posted in over 30 social media and social bookmarking sites every single time you write a new blog post or new status update on micro-blogs (such as Twitter and Facebook).
That means you log into your Ping.fm account and make a status update in Twitter or Facebook, once and it automatically shows up in all the other 30 social media sites. That’s a huge time savings you can use for other fun stuff!
Link Hootsuite to Ping.fm: Now, you are going to take your automation to the next level, and that’s where Hootsuite comes in. Here are steps to make your Ping.fm account feed your Hootsuite account:a) Sign up for Ping.fm b) Create accounts on all the over 30 social media sites supported by Ping.fm. You can get that from ping.fm/keye) Next add Ping.fm as a new network in your Hootsuite account. Here’s how – click “add new network” > select Ping.fm > Type your Ping.fm username > Enter your Ping.fm API Key
Hooray! You have now successfully linked your Hootsuite account to all your social media site accounts you setup in Ping.FM. Meaning: you simply have business updating only one single Hootsuite account one time after every post and all your friends in over 30 social media would see your post. That is reducing your former level of efforts by 45 times.
With this method, every time you post a status on Hootsuite once you will be reducing your former level of efforts and time on social bookmarking by 45 times.
